MBA Entrance Interview and Group Discussion

Hey, guys today I want to share my experience on how it was to give the Group Discussion and Personal Interview for my MBA entrance.

MBA Interview
I submitted the admission form some three weeks back. The date on which they called us was a Sunday. I thought I will again lose a complete Sunday. But they called us at 8 am in the morning. So maybe I may get a little taste of the precious day. So I arrived at the College, which is not far from where I stay.

As I was standing in a line for the batch ids, we were given a PIQ form, i.e. Personal Information Questionnaire. The line was too big and I made use of the time by filling up that form there it self. We were then further guided to the auditorium. Here they gave us an ovverview of how our life will be if we crack the GD and PI successfully.

Further, we were divided into groups of 10 and were assigned a mentor each for groups. I looked at some faces of my group, some looked confident, some confused, some a little nervous. I was chilled, as I am currently working and this time I just wanted to give a go and see how it is i.e. the process.

Now, we were all 10 people sitting in the group discussion room were sitting straight looking at each other. I had prepared a lot about current affairs, as maybe some current topic may come up for the GD. But the topic was "Wining at any cost". We were given 5 minutes to collect our thoughts and then 17 minutes to have a healthy discussion on it. When the judge panel told us to start there was an awkward 3 second silence, were no one spoke. Everyone was just looking at each other as for who will start. I then accepting the silence call and started with a positive note. Our Group Discussion was a pretty healthy one, no fish market  was made. We all made our points.

They told us there would be two PI's now this is something I was completely unaware about. But no problem for me I was cool with it. First PI was a little silent were in the interviewer was forcing me to understand that MBA is not required to be an entrepreneur. And I was trying to convince him, that even as many entrepreneurs have not done an MBA. But that does not mean that no one should have the knowledge. I think getting an MBA first will definitely help with with my business. First PI grilled me but softly.

Here I was sitting in my second PI room. Feeling superb, as this one was fast, questions were thrown on me like a rapid fire round. And I as was having all the answers was pretty confident, and was matching his speed of questions. Finally my Interview came to an end.

It was a superb experience. I really had a lot of fun. Results of this will be declared and the end of May 2015. Lets see if I get selected. Thank you for reading guys. Enjoy Life!
